Dillard's, department stores lead sector gains

NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- Retail stocks rose on Thursday as department-store operator Dillard's Inc. said it plans to form a wholly-owned real estate investment trust subsidiary to improve its liquidity. Dillard's shares jumped 9.2%, sending shares of other department stores including J.C. Penney Co. , Sears Holdings Corp. and Macy's Inc. also higher. The S&P Retail Index rose 0.3% to 502.97 ...
